Here is a sign up for Studio Cleaning this is a great way to get some volunteer hours in. The first one is this weekend. Since the kids are at camp this cleaning really could be done at anytime this weekend since they won't be there. Just let me know what time you would want to go and we will figure out a way to open up the studio for you. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0844ADAC2CA5FE3-studio1 Thank you Dawn Tippett Hey everyone!
We hope everyone is looking forward to STAR Camp next weekend! For those new, STAR (Summer Training And Rehearsal) Camp is a weekend focused on learning and reviewing material and teambuilding within our AOK Family. This is always a lot of fun, but also a good amount of work, so be sure to have plenty of water with you! The cost for camp required of each member goes to the meals, facility rental and lodging (if applicable). These meals will be organized by the Board and are sounding AMAZING, so look forward to them! Of course, since there are only so many beds/rooms and not everyone is staying overnight, there will be differing start and end times each day for particular groups: TIMELINE Friday - 5/19 (Dinner provided) 5:30pm - ARRIVAL for Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald Saturday - 5/20 (Lunch/Dinner provided; Breakfast provided for overnight members) 9:00am - ARRIVAL for Diamond, Amethyst, Garnet, Opal, Topaz, Pearl 7:00pm - PICKUP after Dinner for Opal, Topaz, Pearl Sunday - 5/21 (Lunch provided; Breakfast provided for overnight members) 9:00am - ARRIVAL for Opal, Topaz, Pearl 4:00pm - DEPARTURE for All Groups More detailed schedules regarding each group, where they need to be and when, and meal times for each day will be provided at camp. Additionally on Sunday, 5/21 we will be having a Practice Show to runthrough all of our summer material. Though all material may not be polished at this point, this show allows us to assess where numbers are at, and which songs need a bit more focus going into the last weeks of May. This practice show is scheduled to start at 1:00pm, and should last around 1.5 hours. Parents are welcome to attend, so feel free to arrive after 12:30pm if you'd like to watch the show. Note that lawn chairs/seating may be required. Afterwards, the members are expected to help us pack up the sound equipment, and cleanup the campgrounds that we used prior to leaving. You must be excused by either Tony or Carley in order to leave. Overall we have a very fun STAR Camp planned, and hope everyone is looking forward to it! Thanks, The Creative Team Hello all,
STAR Camp is almost here. We are super excited to have this fun AOK activity to prep for the summer season and provide some bonding time for the members in the group. Camp is May 19th to the 21st. Due to limited space and scheduling unfortunately not all groups will be able to spend the night this year, but certainly can join in for rehearsal and fun. At the end of camp on Sunday the kids will put on a show for the parents to practice and display things they have learned. The show on Sunday will be at 1pm followed by a treat for everyone. Clean up and dismissal will happen between 3 and 4pm. The following is arrival times by groups. We are now just over 3 weeks into our summer season and our members have already learned a lot of material (with more to come over the month of May as well). In order to get everything accomplished in the remaining short amount of time, we ask that members leave their cell phones in their bags during rehearsals. We have seen an increased amount of use of phones during inappropriate times throughout these first few weeks and would like this to stop. To say it simply: do not be on your phone during dance and vocal practices. It is distracting to both yourselves, your peers, and your directors/choreographers. Please be respectful of everyone's time, and be actively involved in practices to make sure you are on top of all material. In the past we have set up a phone caddy for member's to place their phones in and/or collected phones at the beginning of practices. We would like to avoid this, so please just do your part and stay off your phone during practices. Save those for breaks. Thanks, The Creative Team |
